Something happened to me
Lost all that time at Sea
The flotsam quivered under
the moon
And the land was lost
The sky was strewn.
Something happened inside,
A dryness cracked
A hardness broke
A finger touched
A flame awoke.
Something happened
And for some time
There was nothing
Nowhere to hide
No life to live or lose or
make
No love to give or force
or take.
Something happened out
there
Wave upon wave
Crashing into rocks
With no none to save
The horizon inside cool,
barren and grey
No curlew would sing, no night
broke the day.
Something happened again
Subtle and sweet
Life ever returning, kissing my feet
Blossoming up from inside in colour's return
The perfume not faded
But new and unlearned.
Something happened
In passionate, sensual
wealth
The aliveness and playfulness
For the sake of itself
‘The actor never comes to
the stage as himself’
There’s only one of us
So play! Play! and know
you are safe.
Something happened
A continual 'happening to'
Unfolding, unfurling,
moving us through
The balance of love and
awareness, a wave
The dance of a true lover
Our ecstasy weaving
Us gentle and brave. |
